Andre Laurin, founder/president of Vaughan, Ontario based OTSFF Sports Marketing Group, is pleased to announce that he and his staff of motorsport specialists will continue to run Yamaha Factory Racing’s  four-stroke pro snocross program for another season.

The team, which will campaign both the 2009-2010 ISOC and CSRA Snocross Championship series under the moniker Yamaha OTSFF Monster, will feature three-time CSRA Pro Open Champion Iain Hayden. This will be the second season for Espanola, ON’s Hayden with the factory racing team.

“I’m happy to be part of the team again for another season. The OTSFF crew is great to work with. They are really dedicated and committed to snocross racing,” said Hayden. “And the four-stroke FX Nytro is an awesome sled. We made a lot of headway with it last year and I’m convinced we’ll take it to another level this season.”

Although the American ISOC Tour will remain paramount to the team’s schedule, the winning of the Canadian CSRA Championship will be the main focus. Adam “Stu” Robinson, one of the most reputable technicians in the Canadian snowmobile and motorcycle racing world, will serve the team as Crew Chief and Head of Development. Robinson has been part of the OTSFF technical staff for the past three years.

While negotiations are still in progress with a number of support sponsors GYTR and Yamalube have signed on for season.

After an immensely successful inaugural winter season, there will be even more fun in store for snowmobile enthusiasts this winter at ERX Motor Park in Elk River, Minnesota. Taking place on September 14 – the day after Haydays weekend – the third annual C.J. Ramstad Memorial Golf Classic promises to be fun and exciting. And the best part is that it’s open to anyone that wants to play golf for a cause. Teams and individuals are welcome.

Proceeds from the tournament will be contributed to the C.J. Ramstad Memorial Trail Fund, which is dedicated to preserving, supporting and expanding the sport of snowmobiling.

The 2009 golf classic is taking place at the Forest Hills Golf Club in Forest Lake, Minnesota. Registration begins at noon with play starting at 1 p.m. It is a scramble format. C.J. Ramstad, also known as "Mr. Snowmobiling," was more than just a hardcore snowmobile and off-road enthusiast. For nearly 40 years, he dedicated his life as a journalist, editor and photographer in the off-road community. He earned the highest level of respeect for his selfless efforts and unforgiving love of the sports of snowmobiling and off-road riding. Sadly, C.J. and his 17-year-old son J.J. were killed in an automobile crash in May 2007. Though C.J. is no longer with us, his spirit, legacy and the massive contributions he made are second to none.

Recently, the Obama administration outlined their proposal for snowmobiles in Yellowstone National Park. They are proposing 318 snowmobiles per day and 78 snowcoaches. The number of snowmobiles allowed in the Park last year was 720 per day.

•Snowmobiles only operate on a small number of existing roads

After the success of its inaugural season in 2008-2009, the International Series of Champions (ISOC) recently released details on its tentative schedule for the 2009-2010 ISOC Amsoil Championship Snocross Series.

While the circuit will visit many of the same areas as it did last year, it also plans to branch out to the west to host two races at new venues. As it has for the past 17 years, the National snocross season begins Thanksgiving weekend in Duluth, Minnesota. From there, in early December ISOC plans to travel to Southern California and then to Salt Lake City, Utah, which are both new venues for ISOC and snocross racing. The circuit then takes a two-week break during the holidays.

The circuit resumes its schedule with the fourth race of the season at Canterbury Park in Shakopee, Minnesota. Two weeks later it moves to Milwaukee, Wisconsin. In February, ISOC will return to Farmington, New York, and a yet-to-be-determined site. In March, the series moves to Hayward, Wisconsin, for the second consecutive year, and the season culminates in mid-March at Lake Geneva, Wisconsin.

Valcourt, Québec, July 28, 2009 –  Based off the success of the program in 2008, BRP and its Ski-Doo® dealers will again donate up to $1 million dollars to North American snowmobile clubs for snowmobile trails through the Ski-Doo Million Dollar Club Support Program.  Regardless of the brand they own, every snowmobiler will be able to participate in this fundraising program.

For each snowmobiler submitting a certificate at their Ski-Doo dealership, BRP will donate $10 to their snowmobile club through the program. Program certificates will be available in all snowmobile magazines, at fall snowmobile shows, and on ski-doo.com. An advertising, public relations and direct mailing campaign will also be launched to reach every snowmobiler.

“The shear volume of letters received praising BRP and our dealers for last year's program is proof enough for us that this program worked wonders,” said Roch Lambert, vice-president and general manager of the Ski-Doo / Sea-Doo / Evinrude division. “Its simply amazing to see how many people went out of their way to write to us and share what they did with last year's funds and how it impacted their club — and how important that contribution was to the upgrades they did to the trails' infrastructure.”

MINNEAPOLIS (August 11, 2009) – Paul Bauerly, one of the top talents in the national Semi-Pro ranks last winter is turning pro and will race for Team Sportech aboard Arctic Cat for the 2009-2010 season. Bauerly, a rising star in the International Series of Champions national snocross tour, finished in the top five in year-end points in both Semi-Pro Super Stock and Semi-Pro Open last season. Now Bauerly will join Andrew Carlson (Semi-Pro) and Taylor Carlson (Pro-Women) in the Team Sportech/Arctic Cat race hauler this winter, as the team plans to campaign the full national tour, as well as select Minnesota regional events.

    “This is great move for everyone involved and we are thrilled to have him (Paul) on our team,” said team owner Chris Carlson. “Paul is a class act, is a good fit for our team and he’s a proven performer. I’m excited to get him on an Arctic Cat Sno Pro… I think he’s going to surprise a few people this season.  Paul’s a guy who is committed to excellence in all that he does.” 

    Team Sportech is coming off a season that was filled with podiums and incredible highs. Both Taylor and Andrew put themselves on the podium several times; with Andrew earning a pair of national podium finishes during the ISOC Hayward National near the close of the season.
